You will be picked from your hotel exactly at 0800 hours to Mombasa the second capital city of Kenya for your city tour trip. Commence the tour at the Mama Ngina drive road just when you cross the ferry. Drive through the famous Florida night-club to the locals as well as the tourists and Oceanic hotel being one of the oldest hotels in Mombasa.
Then to the museum 'Fort Jesus' which was build by the Portuguese in the 1593 for the purpose of their defence against their business rival in East Africa coast during the time of scramble for Africa, the Arabs. . You will further tour the dhow harbour where you will see very old dhows which do operate in East Africa coast islands even today. There are only few differences between the ancient and the current dhows; one of them is that the current dhows have a motor while those of the first never had. Proceed to the Arab town with its maze of narrow twisting alleys displaying beautifully curved doors, jewellery and curio shops. Hindu temple, elephant task and Akamba handicraft co-operative society where about one thousand members produce a great variety of very reasonably priced woodcarving. Here you will see carving in action and have free time to bargain and buy.
Lunch will be at a hotel in town followed by after lunch tour, you will be driven to the north coast of Mombasa to visit Baobab Rockcraft which specialises in producing unique, hand crafted artefacts derived from polished fossils and stone from quarries. These include bookends, solitaire sets and more.
Thereafter you will proceed to the Haller Park. Haller Park used to be quarries previously excavated by Bamburi cement for cement production, but now it has been transformed into a variety of recreational facilities including forest, nature trails and game sanctuaries, crocodile and fish farms. Haller Park is world famous for its Nature Trails which is home to hippopotamus, antelopes, birds, reptiles, snakes, giant tortoises, crocodiles and giraffes.
